Jonathan D. Isaacs

Of Counsel

Jonathan has represented clients in more than seven hundred family law matters in 16 of the 24 jurisdictions in Maryland. His experience includes the successful representation of the appellant in the seminal child support case of Walker vs. Grow in the Court of Special Appeals of Maryland. He also successfully represented the third-party maternal grandmother litigant in a highly publicized custody matter that was featured on the “America’s Most Wanted” television show. He is a highly skilled trial attorney having preceded his family law practice with a three-and-a-half-year stint as a panel attorney with the Office of the Public Defender in Montgomery County, Maryland.

Jonathan began his formal work experience as what was once commonly referred to as a “cub reporter” with the Washington Post Sports Department for three years during his undergraduate time at the University of Maryland. He went on to receive his Juris Doctor from the George Washington University National Law Center. His experience prior to graduation from GW Law included time as an intern with the National Football League Players’ Association and with the Environmental Protection Agency.

Jonathan has been active throughout his career with pro bono work and has contributed considerable hours as both a volunteer at what is now known as the “self-help” legal clinic in the Montgomery County Circuit Court and in representations of multiple parties who could not otherwise afford legal services.  Jonathan has also mentored a number of law students in recent years, several of whom have proceeded from law clerk work with his office to prestigious judicial law clerk appointments with Circuit Court Judges.
